Each test runs on one viewport and on the schedule you pick for it, up to your plan's fastest. Runs come from one monthly pool shared by every test in the workspace; there is no separate limit per test. The pool resets on the 1st of each month.
A weekly test uses 4 or 5 runs a month, a daily test 30 or 31, an hourly test 720 to 744. Runs you start by hand and the check run when you create a test also come out of the pool; saving edits to a test doesn't. When a scheduled run fails, the re-run that confirms it reuses the same run. When the pool is used up, scheduled and manual runs stop until the reset.
* Video is off for runs that enter a sensitive value or fill a password field, because continuous video can't be masked reliably. Their step screenshots cover those fields.
Common questions
What's the difference between tests and runs?
A test is a saved checkout flow: its steps, its test data and the one viewport it uses (desktop, mobile or tablet; Free and Starter use desktop). Your plan limits how many tests you can keep. A run is one replay of one test. Runs come from a monthly allowance shared by every test in the workspace.
What counts as a run?
Each scheduled run, each run you start by hand, and the one check run when you create a test each use one run. Saving edits to a test doesn't. When a scheduled run fails, Cartainty re-runs it once to confirm before alerting you; that confirming re-run doesn't use another run.
How does the monthly allowance work?
The allowance is a pool for the whole workspace, not a limit per test: 10 on Free (run by hand), 120 on Starter, 750 on Pro, 3,000 on Business. It resets on the 1st of each month. A weekly test uses 4 or 5 runs a month, a daily test 30 or 31, and an hourly test (Business) 720 to 744. For example, 20 daily tests on Pro need 600 runs in a 30-day month and 620 in a 31-day month, against a pool of 750. On Business, one hourly test uses about 720 to 744 runs a month, so 30 saved tests can't all run hourly; 4 can. Before you turn on a schedule, the test's settings show whether it fits what's left this month.
What happens when the allowance runs out?
Scheduled runs are skipped until the allowance resets on the 1st, and runs you start by hand are refused too. Your tests and schedules stay as they are and pick up again after the reset; paused tests stay paused. The dashboard marks scheduled tests as not running, and you get an email when 80% is used and when it runs out (unless you've turned email notifications off). There are no overage charges; moving to a larger plan raises the allowance straight away.
Can I try it free?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 1 checkout test that you run by hand up to 10 times a month, plus bonus monitoring on 1 website, with no time limit and no card. Paid plans start with a 7-day trial: you enter a card at checkout, and you aren't charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
What's the Chrome extension?
A Chrome extension (Pro and Business) that turns what you do on the real site into test steps: clicks, typing, dropdown choices, checkboxes, scrolling and page changes. It records the main page only, not fields inside embedded frames such as card forms, and it stops at payment. You can review and edit the steps, or add steps by hand, in the dashboard.
What does the bonus site monitoring include?
Every plan also runs a scan-and-diff pipeline against your sites to catch tracking pixel removals (Meta, GA4, TikTok), third-party script drift, cookie changes, and consent banner regressions. It is included on every plan and doesn't use your checkout run allowance.
What happens if I need more?
Move to the next plan from the billing page. If you need more than Starter includes, contact us about a custom plan.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans can be canceled at any time. Annual plans are billed once a year and renew automatically; cancel before the renewal date to stop the next charge.
